Artificial Organs is a monthly peer-reviewed journal publishing the latest in research, development, translation, and clinical application of organ replacement therapies, and organ machine perfusion preservation.
The journal was conceived and launched in 1977 by pioneers of artificial organs Drs. Yukihiko Nosé (also known as ‘Mr. Artificial Organs’) and Paul S. Malchesky. It was originally edited by Dr. Willem Kolff, the ‘father’ of artificial organs.
Because of its unique scope, Artificial Organs is a multidisciplinary, yet semi-specialized journal, with its broad international readership encompassing medical, scientific, and engineering communities.
As such, Artificial Organs brings its readership the full depth and breadth of the science and technology that continues to advance the Replacement, Recovery and Regeneration of tissues, organs, and organ systems.
