Herman Broers
Biographer, author, historian and publisher Herman Broers (NL, 1970) is co-founder of the Willem Kolff Foundation (WKF) in Kampen (NL) and was founding director and curator of the WKF historical collection for 17 years. He studied Journalism and History at the VU University in Amsterdam. Broers published several books and articles in Dutch and English about Dr. Kolff (Inventor for Life – 2007, Father of Artificial Organs – 2020) and many articles about Kolff’s pioneering years of inventing the artificial kidney during WW2 in The Netherlands. Broers is a host at the Kolff Museum in the former Kampen City Hospital Building and gives lectures about his books (on Kolff and on his other 15 published books so far) internationally.
